Clearity Races, and Runs to Spread Awareness 11.15.11

In a sea of pink, “Clearity Teal” stood out at the San Diego Susan G Komen Race for the Cure on November 6, 2011. For the first time at Susan G Komen, The Clearity Foundation not only had motivated runners in the race but we also had an awareness booth.

The booth was staffed by Clearity team members and volunteers: Hillary Theakston, Amy Hurley, Angelica Lannamann, Becca Buhler and Mary Buhler. The goal of the partnership with Komen Race for the Cure was not only to raise funds critical to Clearity’s mission but to raise awareness of individualized treatment options.

The outgoing booth workers collected more than 70 email addresses of potential donors and handed out hundreds of Clearity bracelets and pamphlets.

Congratulations to 17 year old Austen Buhler who ran in the race and raised $200 for Clearity. Additionally, Austen donated his $50 fundraising prize back to Clearity Foundation.

It was a beautiful sunny day in Los Angeles on November 13, 2011 and Team Clearity was represented at Run For Her in full force! With an informational booth and live tweets from @ClearityFnd we had a great time spreading awareness.

The event was inspirational with over 5,000 participants. Some of the runners that day included our Founder Laura Shawver, Scientific Advisory Board member, Beth Y. Karlan, MD, Board Member Aimee Jungman, Volunteer Nurse, Brenda Durand as well as many others! Thank you to everyone who came out and ran, danced in the flash mob, and supported such a great cause!
