Diane’s Day Fundraisers 9.24.11

Following last year’s charitable campaign in which DavidBartonGym raised over $115,000 for The Clearity Foundation, gym founder and owner David Barton will proclaim September 24, 2011 as "Diane's Day” in honor of his sister, Diane Barton, who lost her battle to the disease in 2005. All DavidBartonGym locations in New York, Chicago, Miami and Seattle will donate a portion of the proceeds from every personal training session on Diane’s Day to The Clearity Foundation.

To raise additional awareness and funds, DavidBartonGym will host several local events, including a philanthropic luncheon at Vinter Grill and a fashion show, styled by Barton and featuring looks that are each paired with a workout tip, at Neiman Marcus in Las Vegas. In addition, GILT Group’s “Gilt Gives” will sell special training packages in local markets including New York, Chicago, Miami and Seattle, with all proceeds donated to the Clearity Foundation.

Clearity’s Diane Barton Database was named in memory of Dr. Diane Barton, who died of ovarian cancer in 2005. Her brother, David Barton, with support from his trainers, employees and clientele at DavidBartonGym, has provided funding to The Clearity Foundation to honor her legacy as “a healer, an educator and a world class physician”, as she was described by those who worked with her. Dr. Barton worked tirelessly to promote ovarian cancer awareness and continues to this day through The Diane Barton Database in her memory.
